RPM

RPM stands for “Revolutions Per Minute”. In machining, it refers to the spindle speed of a CNC machine. On a lathe, it would be the speed at which the workpiece is rotating, and on a milling machine, it would be the speed at which the cutting tool is rotating. In Gcode, it is represented with S, for example, G00 X0 Y0 S1000;. In a technical document and formulas, it is denoted by n. For example n= k ⋇ Vc) / π
