RPM stands for “Revolutions Per Minute”. In machining, it refers to the spindle speed of a CNC machine. On a lathe, it would the speed at which the workpiece is rotating and on a milling machine the speed at which the cutting tool is rotating. In Gcode it is represented with S for example: G00 X0 Y0 S1000;. In a technical document is represented by n. For example n= k ⋇ Vc) / π
